Query fan-out

Query fan-out is a technique where an AI search system splits a question into several sub-questions, runs a search for each at the same time, and combines the results into one answer. Google uses it in AI Mode. It means a page or profile can be found through any of the sub-searches, so detailed, specific information gets matched more often.
An example
Question: "affordable family dentist in Raleigh open Saturdays that takes Cigna"
Possible sub-searches:
- family dentists in Raleigh
- dentists open Saturday in Raleigh
- dentists in Raleigh that accept Cigna
- affordable dental care in Raleigh
- reviews of Raleigh family dentists
Each sub-search returns different pages. The AI combines them to find businesses that satisfy as many conditions as possible.
Why it matters
Fan-out changes what "relevant" means. A practice doesn't need one page that matches the whole question; it needs its facts to be findable for each part. A clear insurance page, Saturday hours on the profile and website, and reviews mentioning families each catch a different sub-search.
What to do
- Write a page for each main service, and state the details people filter on.
- Keep hours, insurance, prices and service areas in plain text.
- Fill in every relevant Business Profile field and attribute.
- Answer follow-up questions in an FAQ.
